What Is Buti Yoga? - This calorie-scorching workout fuses power yoga with cardio-intensive tribal dance + body sculpting primal movement. Buti Yoga utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to sculpt + tone the deep abdominal muscles that stabilize and strengthen the body. Instead of linear movements, it favors movements that challenge the body along all planes of motion - THE RESULT - long, lean muscle with sexy feminine curves. With Buti Yoga we believe the only way to transform your body in a sustainable way is to fall in LOVE with your workout + wellness lifestyle. To me, Buti Yoga isn't a workout - it's my chance to create - let go - connect - and sweat with intention. Every time you step on your mat, you have a chance to break through the emotional or physical barriers that set you free. This class is for women and we create a tribe-like vibe where you can come together sweat, connect in a non-competetive way. Classes held 6:45pm Tuesdays at Well.Fit Asheville, 239 South Liberty St. in downtown Asheville. Buti yoga pass is 4 for $60. For more info see this page and this website.

Pilobolus’s spectacular talent, in turns intensely dramatic and comedic, shines in the groundbreaking mastery of Shadowland. Jan 28 (Saturday) WORKSHOP... Ballet Conditioning for Pole Lines and Grace 3-4:30pm at Danceclub Asheville, 9 Old Burnsville Hill Rd., #3, Asheville, 28804. Pole dancing can be one the most beautiful and graceful forms of dance to watch, that is . . . when those feet are pointed and there's extension and energy reaching out of every part of the body. Cross training is important with any style of dance you're trying to improve upon. Ballet training is an excellent compliment to pole dancing with its emphasis on clean lines and grace. In this workshop we will work on cambrés (backbending with extension) port da bras and épaulement (placement and reach of your arms, upper body and head), developés (extending fully through the legs) and building more flexibility and strength in the feet so you can point better and for longer! You will leave with exercises you can do on your own and lots to think about the next time you hop on a pole! Kathleen was a ballet nerd and spent most of her time in a ballet studio for over 15 years. $25. See the website to sign up or call 828-275-8628.
