QOYA - Qoya, a women's embodiment practice, is movement as medicine, as metaphor, as prayer. Qoya is based on a really simple idea that through movement we remember that our essence as women is wise, wild and free. Wise, wild and free also draw reference to the three forms of movement that we practice in a class: WISE, connecting to the wisdom of yoga, WILD, to the creative expression in dance, and FREE to expanding our capacity to enjoy being in our bodies through sensual movement. There is no way to do Qoya wrong: its all about looking for that place where it feels good to move. Some say qoya feels like a combination of the best wedding reception you've ever been to AND the most profound experience you've had in yoga, meditation, or similar practices. Weekly classes EVERY TUESDAY 6-7:30pm at the Mothership in West Asheville. Women ages 16-116 welcome with no experience necessary. Please learn more about weekly classes at this page and stay connected to all qoya Asheville events by joining the public Facebook group Qoya Asheville NC.

What Is Buti Yoga? - This calorie-scorching workout fuses power yoga with cardio-intensive tribal dance + body sculpting primal movement. Buti Yoga utilizes the Spiral Structure Technique to sculpt + tone the deep abdominal muscles that stabilize and strengthen the body. Instead of linear movements, it favors movements that challenge the body along all planes of motion - THE RESULT - long, lean muscle with sexy feminine curves. With Buti Yoga we believe the only way to transform your body in a sustainable way is to fall in LOVE with your workout + wellness lifestyle. To me, Buti Yoga isn't a workout - it's my chance to create - let go - connect - and sweat with intention. Every time you step on your mat, you have a chance to break through the emotional or physical barriers that set you free. This class is for women and we create a tribe-like vibe where you can come together sweat, connect in a non-competetive way. Classes held 6:45pm Tuesdays at Well.Fit Asheville, 239 South Liberty St. in downtown Asheville. Buti yoga pass is 4 for $60. For more info see this page and this website.
